WORD OF THE WEEK IN TAGOLOG- kapaki-pakinabang which means expedient.
So just when Elder and i think that things are gonna lean less toward mapping and more toward teaching, we seem to be way wrong! hahaha but it is all good because it is very important to the mission because the member records need to be updated and this will help those that are new to areas.
A little update on my peanut butter life...that really seems to be everything when i am with an american companion hahaha it is like a crazy obsession and honestly you have to enjoy the simple things.
Another update on my bug life. I finally put a mosquito net over my bed after almost eleven months of living in the philippines which is surrounded by mosquitos and all sorts of those creepy crawlers that you dont want to find around you while you are in bed. i am so glad i finally did because now i am not getting as bit...i think haha but now i know for sure that spiders or cockroaches arent crawling on me...or at least i hope they arent...anyway i feel safer. I honestly feel like when i slip in their im like in my own little cocoon or like a child in their own self-made fort blanket. that is all probably a too long and useless description but just for you guys to see what my life is like here hahaha it might be necessary. speaking of bugs in one day i got in a fight with a cockroach and i think he might of one... i cant remember if i got him. there was also another point when my companion and i were planning and he directs my attention above me in the corner right behind my back where there is this giant spider not far from me at all. can i tell you about how scary that was...of course i still had to take a picture but i knew i had to kill it before things got worse. but that is only the start because when i didnt expect the worse to happen...can you guess what happened? IT JUMPED AT ME!!!!! i cant remember if went past me or if i moved because of pure terror but it missed me and went over under my desk. the tables had completely turned and i was the victim. we chased after it for awhile...well the other Elder's in our house did because after everything i was honestly like the classic woman in cartoons or movies that always gets up on the chair when a mouse comes by and that is exactly what i did. the worst was when i was on the wall next to mine and my companions bed. eventually we slayed the beast. victory was ours.
In the week we did have some opportunities to teach which was nice. we helped and visited with some investigators, the Rxxxxx family, who were closed to getting baptized but the husband had broken a commandment so we are going to try and help them strengthen their relationship with God.
We also taught this investigator Ayyyyyy who cant be baptized until she is married. we retaught lesson one to her and tried helping her understand the importance of the restored Gospel in our lives.
we had some more lessons and it feels good to teach again and get back into testifying and helping people come to know the truth! i truly love this gospel and i am so very grateful for my Savior who understands me and every weakness of mine. I am also grateful for my father as yesterday was father's day and also for my Father in Heaven. I love you all!
